Over one hundred and fifty UvA employees signed a declaration of solidaritiy with the students who were evicted from the Roeterseilandcampus last Friday. ‘The administrative decision to remove students from campus by police force is at odds with the mission of our university.’

In the declaration, UvA employees ask that the board apologises to the students as well as for the university to compensate for any damage suffered to their possessions. They also state that they hope that board memmbers will accompany the students to The Hague to appeal against further cutbacks.

The researchers and lecturers in support of the declaration are mostly employees from the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences and the Faculty of Humanities. For the complete list of signees, see here.
